Kayaking along active volcano “Sakurajima”

Kagoshima city is one of the only cities in Japan which has an active volcano right in the heart of the city. The active volcano “Sakurajima” is a symbol of Kagoshima. The locals actually feel relieved upon its small eruptions from time to time, as it is seen as releasing its energy of the big magma’s movement and they can feel the power of nature right amongst their daily lives.

The active volcano gives us the fertile ground and combined with the warm climate, makes Kagoshima an agriculture powerhouse in Japan. Alongside the volcano, the water is rich in mineral contents making it a fertile ground for fishes as well.

We offer a unique opportunity for you to kayak along Sakurajima and feel the energy of the mother nature! Weather permitting, you may even find “your own special hot spring” during the kayaking experience.
