Fishing with the Master of Kinko Bay

Kinko Bay also known as Kagoshima Bay is a gorgeous yet calm and idyllic place.

Would you like to go fishing at Kinko Bay surrounded by the exotic views of Mount Sakurajima? Fishing season extends from March to November and you can enjoy an early morning fishing experience, viewing the beautiful sunrise and catching (hopefully) some local fish species during that season.

Perhaps some Horse Mackerel, Mackerel, or Golden Threadfin Bream in spring-summer, and Hairtail, Olivaceous, or Sea Bream in winter.

About the host

Your host is a very experienced fisherman with more than 40 years of fishing behind him and knows Kinko Bay like the back of his palm. The host was born in Tarumizu, which is a small village opposite Kinko Bay and has lived there for his entire life.

He’ll guide you around Kinko Bay and perhaps even help to get the blessings of the Bay in order to catch some fish.

He also renovated an old folk house (Kominka no Yado Tarumizu) which is available for staying by guests, subject to availability. The folk house has a hand-made Hearth, which seems to have got a lot of attention from tourists.
